Live Aquarium Stem Plants (Lead Bunch / Mayaca Fluviatilis)

Mayaca fluviatilis, also known as Stream Bogmoss, is a feathery green stem plant that brings softness and vertical motion-planted freshwater aquariums. Its thin, needle-like leaves grow densely along upright stems, creating a delicate texture ideal for midground-background layers. This plant excels at providing a natural, flowing look that complements bolder, broad-leaf species or adds visual lift-layout zones. This species is a favorite among aquascapers for its responsiveness-trimming and its fast growth under medium-high light (8–10 hrs/day). CO₂ supplementation helps tighten internodal spacing and boosts the vibrant green color. It performs best in nutrient-rich substrates and works well in both nature-style and Dutch-style layouts, where it serves as a filler, soft accent, or background hedge. Each 1-pack includes a fresh lead bunch containing multiple stems. Use aquascaping tweezers-trim off the lower leaves and insert stems directly into your substrate. With regular pruning, Mayaca fluviatilis can be shaped into structured vertical layers or flowing natural masses. It is easy-propagate—simply replant healthy trimmings-expand your layout or reinforce thinning sections.
